    Liberian rebel leader Kunti Kamara sentenced to life in prison

    Former Liberian rebel leader Kunti Kamara was found guilty by the Paris court of appeal of numerous atrocities including rape and cannibalism enacted during the country's civil war 30 years ago. Kamara was sentenced to life in prison.

    Ethiopia: government and TPLF agree to cease-fire

    The UN hails a "a very welcome first step,” while Washington claims a “major breakthrough” in regards to Ethiopia's announcement of a cessation of hostilities between the government and the rebels in Tigray after over a week of negotiations led by the African Union in Pretoria, South Africa.
